Thermal Imaging for Home Inspections in Bali

Thermal imaging is a technology that uses infrared radiation to detect the temperature of objects and surfaces. It is used in a variety of industries, including home inspections, to help identify potential problems in the home.

In Bali, thermal imaging is becoming increasingly popular as a tool for home inspections, providing homeowners with valuable insight into the condition of their homes.

In this article, we will discuss the benefits of thermal imaging for home inspections, what to look for during a thermal imaging home inspection, common issues identified with thermal imaging, how to prepare for a thermal imaging home inspection, what to expect during a thermal imaging home inspection, the cost of thermal imaging home inspections in Bali, and what to do after a thermal imaging home inspection.

What is Thermal Imaging?

Thermal imaging is a technology that uses infrared radiation to detect the temperature of objects and surfaces. This technology is used in various industries, including home inspections, to help identify potential problems in the home.

Thermal imaging works by detecting differences in temperature and creating an image based on those differences.

This image can then be used to identify areas of the home that may be experiencing problems, such as leaking pipes, active moisture, or electrical issues.

Benefits of Thermal Imaging for Home Inspections

Thermal imaging is a valuable tool for home inspections because it can detect problems that may not be visible to the naked eye.

For example, thermal imaging can detect areas of the home experiencing excessive moisture or heat, which can indicate the presence of mold or other issues.

Thermal imaging can also detect electrical problems, such as overloaded circuits, and can help identify areas of the home that are not properly insulated.

What to Look for During a Thermal Imaging Home Inspection

During a thermal imaging home inspection, the inspector will look for areas of the home that are experiencing excessive heat or moisture. By looking at the image above, you can see two dark patches above and below.

These indicate a cooler temperature than the areas around them. After further evaluation, we helped our client discover that a pipe in the wall was cracked and leaking water. This wasn’t evident with the naked eye because there was no indication the wall was wet. We later confirmed with a moisture meter.

We will also look for areas of the home that are not properly insulated, as well as areas that may be experiencing electrical problems. The inspector will also look for any signs of mold or other moisture-related issues.

Common Issues Identified with Thermal Imaging

Common issues identified with thermal imaging include areas of the home experiencing excessive heat or moisture, areas not properly insulated, and electrical problems.

Thermal imaging can also detect the presence of mold or other moisture-related issues.

In the image above, we cross-checked work done by a local contractor. He claimed the leak was repaired. The thermal imaging above indicated that the drywall was still wet and the client was able to have it repaired for free.

What to Expect During a Thermal Imaging Home Inspection

During a thermal imaging home inspection, the inspector will use a thermal imaging camera to scan the home.

This camera will detect differences in temperature and create an image based on those differences. In the event of any anomalies, we will report them.

What to Do After a Thermal Imaging Home Inspection

After a thermal imaging home inspection, it is important to take action to address any issues that were identified. If the inspector identified any areas of the home that are experiencing excessive heat or moisture, it is important to take steps to address the issue. If the inspector identified any electrical problems, it is important to contact a qualified electrician to address the issue.
